The 7 Best Things to Buy in March

The Best Things to Buy in March

March is here and with it brings early signs of spring and some really great deals! March provides a great opportunity to stock up on discounted items, but make sure not to overspend! It’s great to stock up on a deal, but don’t hurt your budget in doing so. Make a plan, stock up and save with the best things to buy in March!

1. Frozen Food

Bet you didn’t know that it’s National Frozen Foods Month. This will be the best time to look for frozen food coupons and specials at the supermarket. Stock up this month on frozen packaged foods, but don’t buy too much. Freezer burn will set in and could ruin your savings. If you’re going to stock up, buy only what you think your family will consume within three to six months.

2. Mobile Phones

Wireless service companies are dumping last year’s smartphone models to make way for new ones that will arrive in the late spring and summer. Go online or stop in your local service provider’s showroom and shop for the model you weren’t quite ready to commit to last year.

3. Winter Clothes

Winter clothes are flying off the shelves in March because stores are cutting already discounted prices to clear rack space for summer seasonal items. This is the time of year to buy coats, heavy jackets, winter pants, boots, and winter accessories. You may have to dig through the 70% off racks, but if they’re still in stock they’ll be at some of the lowest prices of the year.

4. Televisions

The Superbowl may be over, but stores don’t like the typical lull after the feeding frenzy of February. They’re looking to get rid of any leftover inventory to make way for the upcoming models.

5. Chocolate

It’s a no-brainer that March is a great time to buy chocolate. Valentine’s Day is the height of chocolate buying and stores are now trying to get rid of leftovers. Chocolate doesn’t have an indefinite shelf life, and any extra inventory is at risk of getting stale, so stock up!

6. Cleaning Supplies

The term “Spring Cleaning” is used by many households every year for the process of cleaning their entire house during the spring months. Before spring fully gets here, stock up on cleaning supplies before the prices go up.

7. Gym Memberships

January is obviously the worst time to buy a gym membership due to the overwhelming amount of people signing up because of New Year’s resolutions. Now two months later, the resolution season has slowed down and to make up for it, gyms are lowering their prices. Gyms also have to compete with the upcoming spring weather approaching. More people are wanting to workout outside rather than indoors, and that’s good news for you.
