- 1 can of turkey
- 1/4 cup butter flavored shortening
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 bouillon cube
- 1/2 cup of milk (make from powdered milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Melt the fat in a medium saucepan. Stir the flour into the fat until it is totally absorbed. Whisk in the water until the mixture is smooth. Bring to a boil and add the bouillon cube, the milk, the seasonings, and a dash of pepper. When the mixture is heated thoroughly, heat the canned meat. Serve together while hot.

- 3 cups of assorted dried beans (kidney, butter, etc.)
- 1 pound can of turkey
- 1 small fresh onion or 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard or 2 teaspoons powdered mustard
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 cup bacon bits
The night before preparing, soak the beans. When the beans are fully soaked, drain the water and boil them over low heat until tender. Add the onion and the meat to a separate heavy bottom pan. Brown these ingredients until the meat is lightly browned and the onions are tender. Add the cooked beans and the other ingredients to the meat and onions. Stir well. Pour all of the ingredients into a casserole dish and top them with the bacon bits. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
